White Copra

Copra is the endosperm of the coconut with the husk and shell removed. It consists of the white and fleshy edible part of the seed with an outer brown skin which is split into two parts and then dried to specified moisture levels. Copra is used for coconut oil extraction and the residue following extraction is used as animal feed.
Indonesia is the largest coconut plantation in the world and is continually harvested throughout the year. We process our Copra production at our processing unit in Sukabumi regency, West Java. This is one of the biggest areas of coconut plantation in Indonesia. That is why, we grow to become one of the largest suppliers of Copra from Indonesia.
We are capable of exporting around 2000 MT of Copra per month. We supply Grade A and also supply lower grade of white copra.
We produce high quality Copra and take advantage of both sun and oven drying to minimize moisture content. Our dedicated Copra production staff are experts in their field and we continue to grow our production capabilities through innovative and continuous improvement in our processes.
Manufacturing Process
Old coconut can be processed into copra and take a lot of benefit. Dried coconut or copra can be used as raw material for making coconut oil. This coconut oil is material for cosmetic, food, and medicinal products.
Copra processing is very simple. After the old coconut is split, it is immediately peeled off, separated from the coconut shell. Pry the coconut flesh carefully, do not let it become smaller pieces.
The appearance of white copra is more attractive than brown copra. The price is also more expensive than brown copra, because of the high quality process. Traditionally, brown copra is dried with a smoke. While white copra must be dried under in the sun or in a special oven.
The main process of copra is the evaporation of water from the coconut flesh. The initial water content of ±50% is reduced to 5-7% by drying. The rate of evaporation of water is influenced by temperature, surface area, and texture of coconut flesh.
When the weather is hot, the process of drying copra using the sun can be completed within 2 days. For maximum results, it will be dried again for 3 to 5 days so that the copra is ready to be marketed.
The method of drying with sun does not require large costs. In addition, without any tool maintenance, so it does not require fuel.
